BOTOX® Cosmetic Pennington and Princeton
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription nuerotoin that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of both moderate to severe crow’s feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows in adults. The Botox® Cosmetic procedure consists of a few tiny injections and takes only 10 minutes. The best candidates are those that think that they appear tired, worried, or even angry because of visible lines and wrinkles on your forehead or between your eyebrows. Once Botox has been administered you will look more refreshed, well rested and happy. Results will last 3-5 months.
Q: What is BOTOX®?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a treatment to temporarily improve the appearance of both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and crow’s feet lines in adults.
Q: How does BOTOX® work?
BOTOX® Cosmetic targets one of the causes of frown lines and crow’s feet—the constant muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Dr. Gertzman will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity.
Q: Will BOTOX® make me look like I’ve had work done?
It is important to talk to Dr. Gertzman about the results you want from treatment. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a technique-sensitive treatment. You should not lose the ability to show expression when you are treated by someone who is licensed, trained, and a medical expert in facial anatomy like Dr. Gertzman. DrGertzman as published a book used by other physicians to learn how to inject Botox.
Q: Does BOTOX® treatment hurt?
Some patients report that being injected with BOTOX® Cosmetic feels like a sting. Dr. Gertzman will use ice to numb the area.
Q: How long does the treatment take?
Dr. Gertzman will discuss your treatment goals and perform a facial examination to determine the appropriate number of units for you, some patients require more or less than others. The actual injection process takes just a few minutes.
Q: When will I see results?
You may notice results within 7 to 10 days for moderate to severe frown lines, with results lasting up to 3-5 months.
Q: How many injections will I receive?
Each area is different, it can be anywhere from 6-12 injections. Crow’s feet are 6, 3 for each side, and about 6 injections each for the forehead and glabella.
Q: How long is the recovery time after treatment?
There is minimal down time with this treatment, we do advise patients not to lay down or look down for 4-6 hours after receiving treatments to avoid any drooping.
Q: What are some of the side effects?
Side effects are rare. Patients have experienced eyelid drooping & eyelid swelling. Other possible side effects include: dry mouth; discomfort or pain at the injection site; tiredness; headache; neck pain; eye problems: double vision, blurred vision, decreased eyesight and dry eyes; and allergic reactions.
